BRITISH COLUMBIA - BC Wine Institute launches its BC VQA - Grown Here. Made Here. Enjoyed Here. Buy Local program this Canada Day long weekend to encourage BC wine consumers to show their local pride and support the Wines of British Columbia in celebration of Canada's 150th.

"With Canada's 150th birthday upon us, we turn our sights to the many wonderful things that our province has to offer, including 100 per cent BC VQA Wine - grown here, produced here, enjoyed here," explains BC Wine Institute Marketing Director Kim Barnes. "We are very excited to partner with Investment Agriculture Foundation of BC on this extensive campaign, to reach BC wine consumers inspiring them to support their local grapegrowers and winemakers, and celebrate this sense of place, that is 100 per cent BC wine."

Launching July 1, BC VQA - Grown Here. Made Here. Enjoyed Here. will appeal to British Columbians' sense of local pride with the message that when they choose BC VQA Wine, they are enjoying a product that is 100 per cent from British Columbia. The program will feature promotions and displays in top Vancouver restaurants, BC VQA Wine stores, BC Liquor Stores and private wine stores throughout the province.

In addition to the in-store promotions from July 1 through October 30, BCWI is running a BC VQA - Be Here. contest for a chance to win a three-day, two-night Okanagan Wine Country vacation for two. The prize package includes transportation, accommodation, meals and exclusive winery experiences. For contest details and to enter, visit  WineBC.com/BeHere.
